China's integrated circuit design companies have an average sales growth of 40%

China is the world's largest electronics manufacturing industry base, but 80% of China's integrated circuit chips rely on imports. Although the share of China's integrated circuit industry in the world continues to grow, its proportion still lags far behind that of end products.

The 2011 China IC Industry Promotion Conference was held in Jinan, Shandong Province. The report released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Software and Integrated Circuit Promotion Center at the meeting concluded that under the circumstances of the global economic downturn, China’s local IC companies have achieved a good growth. The center expects that China's integrated circuit design industry sales this year will reach 68.681 billion yuan, accounting for 13.89% of the global share.

The Center sampled 42 key integrated circuit design companies across the country. The results showed that most of the companies’ IC design sales increased in 2011, with an average growth rate of 40.88%, of which 6 companies achieved sales doubling. .
